The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP), located in the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, helps Federal agencies meet the goals of Executive Orders, EPACT 2005 and the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007(EISA). The 2007 Executive Order, 13423 Strengthening Federal Environmental, Energy, and Transportation Management, and EISA challenges agencies to lead the nation to reduce dependence on foreign oil and conserve resources. FEMP establishes guidance for the implementation of aggressive statutory goals that promote energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy resources, and water conservation. Companies selling energy-efficient and green products and services have a special opportunity in the federal sector. The Government is a major purchaser of products from suppliers throughout the country. Basic information on how to do business with the Federal government is offered in FEMP's publication, Selling Energy-Efficient Products to the Federal Government, which will be available at the WEEC.
