Asad Gilani works for U.S. Federal Govt. Department of Veterans Affairs as a Portfolio Manager.Asad is responsible for developing policy, implementing efficiency projects, and achieving Energy and Green House Gas emission goals for VA.Previously, Asad worked as a Sustainability Program Manager for the Department of Homeland Security. Prior to working at DHS, Asad worked in the private sector with General Motors (GM) as an Energy Manager at the GM HQ in Detroit, Michigan. Asad has been recognized by the Federal Government and Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) with several achievement awards in the energy field.He has been honored with the (Legend in energy) title by the AEE. Currently, Asad is the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification board member and serves on the AEE advisory board committee. He is very passionate about minimizing energy waste and reducing structural cost because he believes that saving energy and eliminating waste helps our environment, preserves our natural resources, and puts our Nation to the path of Energy Independence.
