Smart Cities and Utilities: From Operating Systems to Enabling an Intelligent "OS"

Christine Primmer

Georgia Power Company

The way people live, work, and play has changed dramatically in the last 20 years. Cities will house three quarters of the world’s population by 2050 and now more than 227 cities across the country have pledged to reduce their CO2 emissions in accordance with the Paris Agreement. This density and shift in demographics and mindset will significantly impact the way energy is produced, stored, distributed and consumed in our urban spaces. This session will talk about how Georgia Power is partnering with our cities to provide data and intelligence to ease this transition and enable applications to drive efficiency and enhance the lives of citizens.
