Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly changing the world as we know it, impacting various industries, jobs and even the economy. While AI allows computers to act, learn and adapt in a way that simulates human logic and judgment, there’s still a place for us. This session will explore AI technologies already making an impact, changing society and affecting your jobs. Learn about emerging applications in commercial real estate buildings and how to leverage AI to increase your contributions to revenue and efficiency in your organization. Hear the latest use cases and what’s coming next. a. Introduction b. Define AI and provide a few examples so the audience understands what it is bi. Where AI is today c. Show more examples in the real estate industry d. How AI has changed society e Cover economy, capabilities, jobs, price, etc. f Increase your contribution (10 minutes) g. Learn capabilities of emerging AI technologies so you can bring them into your organization and increase your contribution to revenue and efficiency h Where is AI going next? (5 minutes) i. Years of experimentation and learning j. Discuss AI’s role in real estate. Can AI save $0.20 per square foot in energy costs and predict building maintenance needs? Will AI help you negotiate leases and set rents? When might repeatable tasks such as data entry and document lookup be automated? What are the ideal process tasks for AI to automate and which are too complicated?

 

Bio

Annette currently leads the Yardi Energy sales team in the eastern region. She has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, with much of her time focused on building and leading teams responsible for bringing energy supply solutions to businesses located in deregulated markets. Throughout her tenure, Annette has held senior level roles at several energy marketing and trading companies where she developed creative solutions to help large commercial and industrial businesses in the Northeast save money on energy and manage the risks associated with purchasing energy in the competitive markets. In her role at Yardi, Annette helps clients benefit from the Yardi Smart Energy Suite, energy management solutions developed specifically for real estate clients that allow them to manage their energy costs and energy efficiency. Annette holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Clarkson University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
