Ben Evans is Vice President of Government Affairs and Communications at the Alliance to Save Energy, overseeing public affairs and political advocacy to build support for energy efficiency and advance federal policy in Washington. He has 20 years of experience working in politics and communications, including nearly 12 years as a reporter and nearly a decade in the energy sector.
Prior to joining the Alliance in 2016, Ben was director of public affairs at the National Biodiesel Board, the biodiesel trade association. He previously covered politics as a reporter in the Washington bureau of The Associated Press, as well as at Congressional Quarterly, The (Durham, N.C) Herald-Sun, and Chapel Hill (N.C.) Herald.
A native of Memphis, Tenn., Ben has a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the College of Charleston.
