Sudarsan Rachuri, Ph.D.

Dr. Sudarsan Rachuri is a Technology Manager in the Advanced Manufacturing Office, EERE, and DOE. He is the Federal Program Manager for the CESMII. Prior to joining DOE, he was the program manager at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and also a research professor at George Washington University and worked in the CAD/CAE software industry.
Dr. Rachuri is serving as Editor-in-Chief of ASTM International’s new journal, Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing Systems (www.astm.org/ssms). Rachuri is also a founding member and served as the vice chair of the ASTM subcommittee that develops standards in sustainable manufacturing (E60.13). He also serves on ASTM International's Smart Manufacturing Advisory Committee. Rachuri is the founding member and the Chair of the standards committee on ASME V&V 50 Verification and Validation of Computational Modeling for Advanced Manufacturing. Sudarsan was a member of ANSI Virtual Technical Advisory Group (VTAG) Industry 4.0/Smart Manufacturing in relation to ISO Technical management Board Strategic Advisory Group (ISO/TMB SAG).
Dr. Rachuri was elected as ASME Fellow for his significant contributions in the areas of information and semantic modeling of product life cycle management, and the application of measurement science for sustainable manufacturing. Dr. Rachuri received the 2016 ASTM International President’s Leadership Award. This recognizes individuals early in their ASTM International career who have significantly advanced the organization's mission through extraordinary accomplishment, example, and vision. Dr. Rachuri won first prize in the 2017 World Standards Day (WSD) Paper Competition, awarded by SES - The Society for Standards Professionals. In 2017, Dr. Rachuri is elected as AAAS Fellow for his significant research contributions in the area of design and manufacturing. Each year the Council elects members whose “efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications are scientifically or socially distinguished.” Dr. Sudarsan Rachuri was recently honored with the Excellence in Research Award by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Computers and Information in Engineering (CIE) Division.
John Dyck is practical visionary with a passion for innovation in the Manufacturing IT space. He’s known globally as a domain expert on both technology and business management in the nexus that often separates IT and Operations. For the past 5 years, he has been focused on how innovations like Cloud and the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) impact manufacturing and has pioneered the application of these technologies in a wide range of manufacturing operations across many industries. John was recently awarded a number of patents for the application of IIoT and analytics in manufacturing workflows and business processes. Mr. Dyck was appointed CEO, CESMII (Clean Energy Smart Manufacturing Innovation Institute) in June of 2018, a private/partnership committed to transforming the U.S. manufacturing market and increasing global competitiveness through the application of smart manufacturing technologies. John brings a highly pragmatic perspective to CESMII, and a crisp focus on outcomes that will benefit the Nation’s energy and economic security by sharing existing resources and co-investing to accelerate development and commercial deployment of innovative technologies. Prior to joining CESMII, John held leadership positions in large corporations like GE and Rockwell Automation, and was effective in raising VC funding and building a successful software startup called Activplant. John currently serves as the immediate-past Chairman of MESA International’s (Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association) Board of Directors. Mr. Dyck holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from Conestoga College.
