Katherine Rinas has over 4 years of experience in energy project management and institutional operations at both Sheridan College and The University of Western Ontario. Katherine Rinas is currently a Mechanical and Energy team lead at Sheridan College.

At the University of Western Ontario, she was responsible for designing and implementing the global adjustment mitigation strategy that is currently used to save the institution $1M per year. She also recommissioned multiple buildings to reduce energy consumption and peak demand.

At Sheridan, Katherine has built the teams that are carrying out significant building and central plant retrofits, supporting major capital projects, and operationalizing energy management. Projects include construction of a new campus central plant, retrofits of building automation and mechanical systems, sub metering, mechanical and controls consulting for new buildings, and training/mentoring of operations staff.
