How to tell if your Chiller Plant is Optimized? The paper will explain what Nissan North America Canton Plant did to optimize the operation of its chiller plant. The chiller plant is the largest chiller plant in the State of Mississippi. When NNA-C looked at becoming ISO 50001 certified it looked at all of the power usage at the manufacturing facility and found that the chilled water generation is the highest. This was deemed our Significant Energy Use (SEU). At a WEEC meeting in 2013 NNA-C found out about a project that Chrysler had done to optimize its chillers and started researching the project. In 2014 NNA-C received funding to install a chiller optimization system on its chiller plant. The project was fully operational by September 2015. The paper will go through what was done and show how much the project saved NNA-C. The paper will go through the 6 ways that chiller optimization save energy.
