Dr. Sreekanth. K. J, Associate research Scientist at Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) was born in Trivandrum, India in 1976. His graduation and post graduation was in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Trivandrum, under University of Kerala, India. He completed Ph.D from National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NIT-C), India, specializing in Energy policy planning and Management. Presently he is working in the Energy efficiency technologies program under Energy and Building Research Center (EBRC) at KISR.

After completing his post graduation, he joined in Ashok Leyland Ltd, Chennai, India, as a Senior Development Engineer in R & D Department in 1999. Later he joined in Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology, Kerala, India as a lecturer and worked there until 2014. He held various positions in Mar Baselios College of Engineering and Technology including the Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering. He has more than 25 international journal & conference publications. He has edited a book titled “Energy policy, perspectives, challenges and future directions” by Nova Publishers USA, as well as written chapters in Encyclopedia of Energy Engineering and Technology by CRC press, Green energy and Technology by Springer book series. He is a certified energy auditor of CEA of Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).

He is a life member of American society of mechanical engineers (ASME), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), Institution of Engineers India (MIE), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Combustion society of India (CSI), International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT), and Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering (IIIE).

His 18 years of service in Research and Development as well as a Faculty in Department of Mechanical Engineering, has rendered him to be versatile Management proponent with diversified interests in different functional areas of management as well as in emerging thrust areas such as Energy management, Energy policy and planning, Energy efficiency technologies, Environmental Engineering etc.
