Bio

Ahmad Abbas is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a Research Assistant in the Industrial Assessment Center of UWM (WM-IAC) for Energy, Productivity, and Waste Assessments. Also, he is a Research Assistant in the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Laboratory for Water-Turbines (Hydro-turbines) Performance in Water Technology Accelerator (WaTA) of UWM. Mr. Abbas received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2012 from Al-Balqa Applied University (in Jordan), and M.Sc. degree in Energy Systems from the Hashemite University (Jordan) in 2015. Prior to joining UWM, he was a Technical Support Engineer at PETRA Engineering for HVAC Industries (a leading HVAC manufacturer in the Middle East) for 2 years and a half. Also, he worked as a Maintenance Engineer at a Cheese Plant (in Jordan) for almost one year.
His current research interests are:
1) Energy Auditing
2) Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
3) Renewable Energy
4) Hydro-turbines

Mr. Abbas has published 1 journal paper and 8 conference papers in hydro-turbines, concentrated solar power and energy auditing areas.
